Fed's Evans: Expects the equivalent of seven 25 bps rate hikes this year and three in 2023

Chicago Fed President and FOMC member Charles Evans on Friday said that he expects the equivalent of seven 25 bps rate hikes in 2022 followed by a further three in 2023, reported Reuters. Developments may cause me to alter this assessment,  he noted, adding that the Fed will learn more through the year and will be prepared to adjust policy as needed. Evans reiterated his call for "timely" rate hikes with a "cautious, humble and nimble" approach. Evans did not remark on the latest robust US jobs numbers.
