UK PM Johnson: Will set out steps out of lockdown on February 22

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday they will set out the steps out of the lockdown on February 22, as reported by Reuters.

"Speculation on easing of the lockdown is understandable but I advise everybody to wait," Johnson added. "The unwinding of restrictions will be done in stages."

Market reaction

The UK's FTSE 100 Index recovered modestly from session lows following these comments and was last seen losing 0.25% on a daily basis at 6,732. Meanwhile, the GBP/USD pair is down 0.3% at 1.3857.
