Senior EU Official: EU’s Tusk long Brexit extension proposal would require UK to hold EU election

A senior European Union (EU) official is reported by Reuters, noting that European Council President Tusk’s long Brexit extension proposal would require the UK to hold the EU election.

The EU official also said that Tusk Foresees long extension, meaning at least a year for the UK to adopt a clear position on Brexit.

A few minutes ago, Tusk took to Twitter, saying: “I will appeal to the EU27 to be open to a long extension if the UK finds it necessary.”
