UK manufacturers heading for sharp Brexit slowdown in 2019 - EEF

British manufacturers are heading into their slowest year of growth since 2015 as Brexit uncertainty will likely weigh over foreign demand and there could be shortages of raw materials, according to EEF (formerly the Engineering Employers' Federation).

Key points (Source: euronews)

  • EEF predicts factory output growth will fall to 0.3 percent next year from an estimated 1.1 percent in 2018.
  • The moderation in manufacturing performance over the course of this year appears to have gathered pace during the final quarter with more clouds on the horizon than there have been for some time.
