GBP/USD falls to fresh 5-week lows

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The GBP/USD opened the week with a downside gap, trading at 1.6462 after closing on Friday at 1.6492. Cable bottomed at 1.6461, reaching the lowest price since February 12 and then bounced to the upside rising to 1.6482.

At the moment of writing trades at 1.6475, 0.06% down for the day so far. The Pound is among the worst performers in the currency market in the first hours of Monday and continues under pressure versus the US dollar.

Last week the GBP/USD finished with a decline of 150 pips, posting the lowest weekly close since early February and the second in a row.
