China still open to negotiation - Xinhua News Agency

China's Xinhua News Agency, a state-run news service, is out with comments about China's stance on further tariffs.

Xinhua stated in a piece that the US is "recklessly wielding" protectionism, and that further tariff standoffs will only cause the US to miss an opportunity to resolve the problem, and that China has no intention of backing down.

Further response is likely from the Chinese government next week, as it's a long weekend holiday in China.
