US: Initial Jobless Claims rose to 326K
FXstreet.com (Edinburgh) - According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 1K last week to a seasonally adjusted 326K in the week ended January 17, matching expectations at 326K and coming from 325K (revised from 326K) in the previous print. Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, rose by 34K to a seasonally adjusted 3.056 million in the week ended January 11 vs. 3.022 million in the previous week (revised).
