BoE has a neutral bias on monetary policy – BoE’s M.Carney
Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, said before the Treasury Select Committee that central bank has a neutral bias regarding monetary policy, noting that there are ‘risks on both sides’ on economic growth.
Carney also suggested there is no guidance on the future path of monetary policy, adding at the same time that the recent moves in the exchange rate reflect market expectations of slower growth in the UK economy and diminished openness.
Carney also said he will step down in June 2019.
