Wall Street falling ahead of the U.S. presidential debate

Wall Street closed with further losses today on the back of   major concerns for Europe's banking sector and namely Deutsche Bank that has been a worry bubbling for sometime and coming back to the forefront of investor's market scrutiny.

At the same time, we are awaiting the first U.S. presidential debate today that is also contributing to risk aversion across the board making for a drop in the S&P 500 index of 18.59 points, or 0.9%, to close at 2,146.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also dropped 166.62 points, or 0.9%, to end at 18,094.83 and the Nasdaq Composite Index  fell 48.26 points, or 0.9%, to close at 5,257.49.

U.S.-listed shares of Deutsche Bank  sank 7.1%, after Germany's press over the weekend, within the Focus magazine, reported that Chancellor Angela Merkel wouldn't support state aid for the bank.
