Japan PM's office confirms Abe to meet with Bernanke at 3pm Tokyo time

Japan PM's office confirms Abe is scheduled to meet with former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke at 3pm Tokyo time. They are expected to engage in discussions regarding both fiscal as well as monetary policies.

Talk has been doing the rounds that the presence of Bernanke in Japan strengthens the case for the country to embark on fresh new economic policies involving what has been coined 'helicopter money', which involves the monetization of budget deficits and central bank making direct transfers to the private sector, without the direct involvement of fiscal authorities.
