EUR/USD hits fresh lows under 1.1100
FXStreet (Córdoba) - EUR/USD turned to the downside after hitting a daily high at 1.1189. Since the beginning of the American session slide constantly and recently broke below 1.1120. It printed a fresh daily low at 1.1096; currently is hovering around 1.1100.
The pair is falling on Friday, after ending on Thursday unchanged. The euro on Wednesday was unable to hold above 1.1200 and today is retreating, but still remains above yesterday’s lows and is almost 150 pips above the level it had a week ago.
USD strengthened, EUR weakens
The recently slide of EUR/USD was boosted by a rally of the US dollar across the board while the euro lost strength and also declined versus the yen and the pound.
European markets finished lower on Friday, with decline of 0.30% on average. Stocks in Europe lost between 2.5 and 5% of their value over the week. In Wall Street, the Dow Jones was rising 0.17% but the Nasdaq was falling 0.48%.
