55% of analysts bet 'Grexit' more likely - Reuters Poll
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The likelihood of Greece retreating from the euro swung above 50% for the first time ever, a Reuters poll showed on Wednesday.
For the first time ever, a majority of economists believe that there is more chance of Greece leaving the euro zone than staying.
According to the survey, some 55% of analysts bet that Greece will leave the currency zone, up markedly from the 45% seen a week ago.
This suggests that markets believe that Sunday's snap referendum - where a majority of voters rejected reform proposals from the international creditors - drastically lowered Greek chances of sealing a debt deal and averting a retreat from the euro area.
