Eurogroup press conference: No Greek deal in sight

FXStreet (Córdoba) - Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup, opened the Eurogroup press conference making it official, no Greek deal was reached at today’s meeting.

Dijsselbloem said that it is regrettable that “too little progress has been made in the talks, and no agreement is in sight”.

Greece the ball is on your court

Eurogroup president also said too little “credible and serious” proposals have been put forward and added that if one is put forward in the next few days, they will consider it.

Dijsselbloem said that they sent a “strong signal” to Greek authorities, assuring it is now up to them to submit credible proposals to reach an agreement.

He said it is still possible reach a deal to extend the current program before the end of the month, but very little time remains.

USD/JPY consolidates above 123.00

The US Dollar is trying to recover some ground against the Japanese Yen and after bouncing off 122.50, the USD/JPY is now trading above 123.00. Pair is in the recovery mode after the 200-pip decline post-FOMC meeting.
