AUD/JPY hits fresh highs, fast approaching 50--DMA

FXStreet (Mumbai) - AUD/JPY advanced in early European morning, extending its ascent from the previous session, largely on the back of a stronger Australian dollar.

AUD/JPY eyes 94 handle

Currently, the AUD/JPY trades higher by 0.54% at 93.64 levels, hovering close to fresh four-week highs at 93.67 levels posted some minutes ago. AUD/JPY edged higher as the Australian dollar outperformed its Japanese counterpart as both the AUD and JPY gained amid broad based US dollar weakness. However, the Aussie garnered greater support, riding higher on upbeat Chinese PMI data which further boosted the AUD/JPY cross.

Moreover, the cross is well supported above the 5-DMA located at 93.25 levels. Hence, an overall intraday upside bias is likely to remain for AUD/JPY until the support is breached.

AUD/JPY Levels to consider

To the upside, the next resistance is located at 94 levels and above which it could extend gains to at 94.26 (50-DMA) levels. To the downside immediate support might be located at 93.25 (5-DMA) levels below that at 93 levels.
